  1. Sorry to hear about that, Stewie. I was hoping you weren't holding any of those ETF's overnight.

  2. thanks bro. that huge rally in korea and nikkei hurt EEV. never held EEV overnite before. ummm, now i know better. i have been doing really well day trading, I do not need ONH in this market. Too much over night drama. For November, my goal is to just day trade. just like i did in Sept and i had a stellar month. I am very disappointed but now i know better.

  4. Exactly. Nothing can be held overnight in this market. But remember, Luke had his hand seared off by Darth Vader, but he was able to get a new mechanical one that worked just as well! ;)

  10. You're OK if "ouch" does the trick (to handle the pain).

    You forgot your rule #8...

Appreciate your postings & videos. Keep up the good work!

  13. Stewie, lets pick out the sweet day trades on Wallstreak for Nov. I need help holding large size trades beyond a quick scalp. I'm down $1k from my high, have not been able to catch a momentum run at all in two weeks (miss most of last week as u know). I'm trading the same, just not as confidently as before. I know what I'm doing wrong, but need to conquer the fear of losing money on large trades when they don't immediately work, even though the trade is holding the trend. It's my high market order entries then panic outs.

-$23k sucks, but you've had +$23k days. Tit for tat. I'm still looking for the $5k trade to end the year. I keep giving it up as soon as I have profit after chasing a loss.

  14. blue: thanks for the encouragement brother. yes, i can get 23K up days but man it stings when I have to write it up in the minus column. I HATE THAT!!! Just ran thru my excel sheet and if i avoided ONH and concentrated on day trading, i'd be up over 60K this month. I got screwed on a few ONH, even tho i had a few winnings holding overnite, i have come to realize that i am way better off not holding overnite especially in this news driven volatile global market. I am going back to basics. i will help you out the best i could Blue. but i am not trading til Nov. I always step off the gas once i take a huge one day loss like that. The pause that refreshes can only positive.

  15. Sounds good Stewie. November it is. I'm up about $7k this month and trying to hit my goal of a $10k month (500 a day). I think I'm trying too hard. The 500 and 1000 share size doesn't really scare me anymore, but it does get my heart racing. It's the fear of buying the top of the candle on a market order fill and catching a reversal instead of a run. That's what has been happening to me lately. Then when the trade isn't working in my favor, of that size, I have no choice but to take the $500 to $1k hit thinking I bought the top. Then I press to make up for that -$1k while trying to make an extra $1k. It's been silly. Man it is hard to fight the emotions for some stupid reason. Brain says, "buy and hold it until it hits X target or until significant selling shows up". Body goes, "THERE'S PROFIT SELL SELL SELL!" or "There's your loss back SELL SELL SELL to break even."

  16. I know exactly what you mean blue, I also hadn't been able to catch anything substantial in a while. I finally decided to just sit out, and trade on paper. The moment I did that my trading turned around (mental block or something), I now feel confident again and am making great moves. Too bad they don't really 'count', but as far as the confidence aspect they count just fine. I think this market is too choppy for my skill level and paper-trading is a good way to follow the action and not get hurt. Of course it sucks when you 'make' 2k in a day and never see it, but at least you didn't lose 2k for real, trading in a funk and chasing good moves you just missed or just bailed on. Anyway, good luck to you, I hope your luck turns around.
Stewie - sorry to hear about your loss. At least you're still way up for the month though! I think you deserve a nice vacation...

  17. Bullshit you're calling it a month! The next few days are going to be volatile and I better see some fuck'n profitable trades out of you. EEV was a mental lapse, pure and simple. The volume was not there until the final 15 minutes...basically a 1 bar spike...not consistent with your other profitable ONH trades. You will be kicking yourself if the next few days set up nicely and you were on the sidelines due to 1 trade. Tomorrow is a new day. Stay disciplined and trust your instinces. I will wait for a retracement in the AM before going long. Conversely, fade the morning spike if there is one. A move that big will be met with profit-taking prior to the Fed announcement. GL!

  18. Being positive for the month means you're outperforming prob 99% of retail traders. Don't sweat it, and don't forget to go to a kick-ass party on Halloween

  19. john: the halloween party is already planned. lol.
