Nice day today, Stewie. I like that bullish flag on SKF.

As an aside, about how many stocks do you keep in your watch list? I sometimes feel like I have too many to watch closely.

i have 20-30 that i watch very closely. then i introduce new ones every few days. but i never watch more 30 at one time. too many stocks clouds my judgment.

Hey Stewie,

In re the POT trade, when you were taken out was that a mental stop or a stop ordered prior to the trade? Are your initial stops based only on support/resistance or do you have other considerations?
Great blog!

Thanks. I have around 25 right now. Do you screen with stockcharts or do you use your trading platform to switch between charts? I notice you've subscribed.

i always keep resis/support in mind but for me i always want to place trades based on where i think the indexes are headed next. If i feel mrkt geting to reverse higher, then i quickly hunt for stock near support and get long quickly. i do not like to chase stocks too much. i get too emotional if i start chasing. On the POT trade, it was a stupid trade and i shouldn't have put it on to begin with. Once i put it on, i quickly relaized i messed up. so i sold it right away b/c it looked like it was about to tank and it did. i like to buy strong stovks in strong sectors near supports. always aware of the daily charts and always aware of where supports are on the 5,10,560 min charts.

BD> i use stokcharts.com to keep track of the many stocks that i watch. i also use them to track indexes on various time frames. i find new setups and new stocks by scannning for 52 week highs, dollar gainers and percentage gainers. these will usually guide in the right direction if you are seeking strength and where money is flowing. also, shows which sectors are leading.
